Grass looks greener on the other side

This is my another attempt to describe the proverb with a short story. You can read other explanation of the proverbs in my previous blogs.

Here is the story:-

Ranjan and Sumer were fast friends. They would go to the same school and were in the same class. Ranjan was not robust. He was frail and weak. Not for him the rumble and tumble of street brawls, the fun of running wild, playing football or hockey or other strenuous games with boys of his age. All that he did was watch his friends including Sumer and other boys play. He would often go with them to the wide open grounds. They would run off to play. He would sit in the shade of a tree, lean back on a bole and read a story-book or enjoy a magazine meant for children. In this way, books became his best friends. He acquired knowledge. that stood him in good stead. He Always stood first in the class.
Friends

Sumer was tall and athletic. He spent most of his time running or swimming or riding bicycles or playing. He excelled in every game. The headmaster selected him as a member of the school's football and cricket team. He served his schools with distinction. Later, he became the captain of the cricket team. The selectors watched his performance. They felt he would one day make it big in the game.
One day, the two friends went for a walk. Ranjan was tried soon. He said to his friend-" I have no strength. What is the use of all this knowledge, if I am not healthy. I would give away all my knowledge if only I could be half as healthy and strong as you"

Sumer was surprised and replied -" So, you are not happy with your lot. Here I am, wishing I could do as well as you in studies. I too had often thought I could forgo my sporting skill if only I could get a first division, in the board examination."
The friends looked at each other. Then they fell into each other's arms, while Ranjan said, " The grass looks greener on the other side. " Sumer enquired" What does that mean?"
Ranjan explained, " Nobody is happy with his skills and dissatisfied with what one has.

Moral of the story

Moral of the story is that realize your talents and respect them. Because God has bestowed each one of us with a quality or the other.

Famous quotes that my friend Mr. Chawhan had shared with me.

New York is 3 hours ahead of California,

but it does not make California slow.

Someone graduated at the age of 22,

but waited 5 years before securing a good job!

Someone became a CEO at 25,

and died at 50.

While another became a CEO at 50,

and lived to 90 years.

Someone is still single,

while someone else got married.

Obama retires at 55,

but Trump starts at 70.

Absolutely everyone in this world works based on their Time Zone.

People around you might seem to go ahead of you,

some might seem to be behind you.

But everyone is running their own RACE, in their own TIME.

Don’t envy them or mock them.

They are in their TIME ZONE, and you are in yours!

Life is about waiting for the right moment to act.

So, RELAX.

You’re not LATE.

You’re not EARLY.

You are very much ON TIME, and in your TIME ZONE Destiny set up for you.

In conclusion don't rush to get and don't be sad .

Make everyday your day!!
