It is listed as Least Concern in view of its wide distribution, tolerance of a broad range of habitats, presumed large population, and because it is unlikely to be declining fast enough to qualify for listing in a more threatened category.
This species is found in Western Ghat from Mumbai to Kerela. The upper parts of the frog vary from brownish –red to bright crimson.
Habitat:- It is mainly found in the area covered with deciduous forest, plantations, agricultural fields and rural gardens. Its breeding takes place in temporary ponds and other water bodies.
Major threat:- Aquatic pollution severe droughts and wildfires are the main threats to this species.
We need to careful whenever we move into the forest area.
